Our Term Dates

At Firbanks Tutoring, we believe that children need a complete break from work during the majority of the school holidays. Time to rest and recharge, play and explore.... So we don't do any tutoring over that time. Instead, we encourage our learners to play outside, read books, cook with their parents, go on bugs hunts, splash in puddles and make mud pies! Childhood is short, and play is a very valuable source of informal learning- if you want any ideas of how you can incorporate informal learning into your child's natural play, then pop along to our blog for a few suggestions....

However, we are available for tuition over the Summer holidays, to help to combat the annual 'Summer slump'. This is especially important for our Dyslexic clients, who often have difficulties with their working memories. We recommend that  Dyslexic children should only have a maximum 3 week break from tuition, so that they continue to build on their successes.
